Built in 1999 and forming one end of The Heathers B&B building, Fraoch Cottage manages to combine all the servicing and safety advantages of attachment to the main house with the independence and privacy expected of self-catering accommodation.

Nestling in a natural hillside setting on the eastern rise of The Great Glen, the grounds of The Heathers and Fraoch Cottage benefit from excellent views over Loch Lochy towards the forested mountains beyond. To the rear the steep rhododendron clad mountain provides an impressive backcloth, intentionally framed for visitors through the large window of the cottage’s feature staircase.

View

Externally the cottage enjoys a private path to its front door and the convenience of car parking for up to two vehicles on the adjacent gravelled area. Whilst the property benefits from direct access off the main A82 Fort William to Inverness Road, privacy from passing traffic is provided courtesy of a long driveway and a swathe of trees and rhododendron bushes. In total, the grounds of the Heathers extend to some two and a half acres and provide that feeling of space and freedom unique to country living.

With a pleasing light decorative theme throughout the interior of the cottage, which sleeps 3, is designed and equipped to provide a comfortable yet functional environment. On the ground floor the accommodation comprises of a vestibule, an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area and a shower-room. Full oil fired central heating, complete with radiator thermostats, provides comfort to suit individual requirements whilst entertainment is catered for by a Sony widecreen LCD television matched to a Sony multi media HiFi unit providing DVD, CD, Cassette tape and FM radio facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is also provided.

Living Room
Kitchen

A fully functional, easy to maintain kitchen is perhaps the most essential requirement of modern self-catering accommodation. The kitchen in Fraoch Cottage easily meets that need from its ceramic tiled floor, upwards through its modern fitted units, electric domestic appliances, to its dual air filtering / extraction systems. A comprehensive range of quality crockery and utensils completes the specification.

Double Room
Accessed via the feature staircase to the rear of the building, the first floor incorporates both the double and single bedrooms. All towels and bed linen are provided with beds being fully made up for the date of arrival and a fresh set of towels being provided mid-week.

Saftey of Guests.
The safety of guests staying in Fraoch Cottage is considered paramount. In accordance with the provisions of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 a comprehensive and ongoing Fire Risk Assessment process in in place. Protection by individual room smoke detector/sounders connected to a central alarm panel and the provision of emergency lighting and fire fighting equipment allow guests to relax and enjoy this holiday home in the knowledge that their personal safety has been taken care of.
